Taining Global Geo Park is a county that belongs to Sanming city located in the Northwest part of Fujian Province. The Geo Park covers an area of 492.5km2 and has a population of around 130,000. The Geo Park is dominated by Danxia landform, but also has many other geological heritages such as volcanic, granitic and tectonic landforms.

Taining is a magical place hidden away from the hustle and bustle of China’s busy Cities, surrounded by mountains, bamboo forests, lakes, rivers and temples with beautiful landscapes, such as bluish-green water surrounding red mountains and marvelous canyons with steep peaks.

Taining is home to dozens of Buddhist and Taoist temples and 70% of them are built inside Danxia caves making them very rare temples in China. Sweet Dew Temple located in a Danxia Cave on the Golden Lake was built in A.D. 1146 and more recently E Mei Mountain Temple, the 5th biggest temple in China looking down on Rising Dragon School.

RDS students also have lots of amazing scenic spots to visit such as The Big Golden Lake, Canyons & Bamboo forests, Shangqing stream, 9 Dragon pools and Cat mountain to name a few.

Rising Dragon School itself is located at the foot of E Mei Mountain, 23km away from Taining town and 2 km away from the local village, Xinqiao. We are also only a few hours drive from the Southern Shaolin Temple, the beautiful sunny island of Xiamen City and a short train journey to Hong Kong.
