Yong Chun Fujian White Crane Master
Yan Da Shi was born June 1950 in the birthplace of Fujian White Crane, Yong Chun. Master Yan has trained and studied white crane all of his life under the great masters Yan Shu Bing and Zhang Hen Shan who were 2 of Pan Xiao De’s best students.
Master Yan’s teachers did not believe in martial arts practice alone so at the same time as his White Crane training master Yan also studied Traditional Chinese Medicine, Calligraphy and massage. He is now a qualified traditional Chinese bone doctor, a member of the traditional Chinese massage association and particularly good at pressure point attack (Dim Mak)
Master Yan, 6th Duan in Chinese martial arts trains his students very hard and gets the most out of you. When he thinks you are ready he will teach you various old training methods to condition the body and make you stronger.
Getting injured with master Yan around is not a problem as he frequently helps his students with his massage skills and if he cannot help you physically he will write you a prescription for the local Chinese medicine stores.
Master Yan also teaches the Calligraphy lessons at Rising Dragon twice a week, below is some information about his calligraphy background.
Yan Da Shi is a member of the Fujian Province calligraphers association and has placed first many times in calligraphy competitions. In 1999, master Yan’s calligraphy was chosen and placed in a book that was celebrating world famous calligraphy and artists.
Fujian province has many tunnels a long the high ways due to the thick mountains across the Province; these tunnels have names above them written in different styles of calligraphy, Yan Da Shi wrote several of them.
Training under master Yan really is a privilege; he is a great character and has a lot to offer his students.
